KIRSTIN MCEWAN

Website and Content Coordinator

Kirstin is a digital media manager and photographer with a strong focus on content creation, social media strategy and digital marketing. She is actively involved in projects centered around cultural regeneration, innovative arts initiatives and music development in the South West of Scotland.

With a keen eye for storytelling and creative engagement, Kirstin leverages digital platforms to highlight and promote dynamic conversations within the arts and music communities. Her work bridges creativity and strategy, driving meaningful impact in a constantly evolving industry.

Liz McQueen

Adult Creative Wellbeing Lead

Liz coordinates the production of OutPost Arts’ adult creative wellbeing programme, with the Art Journal Project as the cornerstone – a social prescribing initiative now in its third year that supports residents across Dumfries & Galloway facing barriers to accessing creative opportunities. Through weekly online sessions, in-person workshops, and curated art materials, she creates accessible pathways for adults to use creativity as a tool for wellbeing and connection.

Originally from Wales and now based in Eskdalemuir, Liz is a landscape painter with a BA in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art and extensive experience as an art tutor and technician across diverse educational settings. Her approach as a facilitator draws from her own journey of rediscovering creativity after facing mental health challenges, bringing authentic understanding to her work with participants as they develop creative habits, build confidence, and form meaningful connections within a supportive community.

As she says, “The creative journey is a path to find ourselves again.”

Diane Hay

admin and finance manager

Diane (Di) joined OPA in February 2023 as their first employee but had been involved with them since 2020, taking part in the pilot Art Journal Project having just suffered a personal grief/trauma, which helped their mindset enormously.

Their job is split into two parts; the first being Admin-mainly working in the background, dealing with the day-to-day operation across all three strands of OPA.

The second being the financial record keeping of the accounts and budgets and all pertaining to it.

Phoebe Watt

LEAD ProgrammeS OFFICER

Initially drawn to film production through a background in Film Studies, it was during her MSc in Film Curation at the University of Glasgow that Phoebe discovered an interest in community engagement – recognising that her love of cinema was deeply rooted in the sense of connection and shared experience fostered by film events and festivals. This steered her towards a broader career in the arts, focusing on meaningful, inclusive programming.

Phoebe interned with CatStrand, where she led the ReConnect Climate Arts Festival, before joining OutPost Arts. As Lead Programmes Officer, she works with project leads and management to coordinate a variety of creative wellbeing initiatives across the region, playing a key role in programme development and evaluation. In 2024, she also spearheaded OutPost Arts’ pilot Care Project working closely with three care homes across D&G to programme high-quality creative experiences that supported residents and staff.

Georgia Blue

Youth Creative Wellbeing Lead

Georgia Blue Ireland joined the team in late 2023 as the new Youth Creative Wellbeing Lead.

Her background is in acting and theatre-making, having graduated from New College Lanarkshire’s Acting with Creative Enterprise course with a first-class degree.

She has worked as an arts facilitator for different community groups for many years, encouraging young people and adults into the arts, honing their creative skills and fostering a caring practice that evokes confidence, self-reflection and self-esteem. Her arts practice follows a socio-political thread, using mindful thinking as to how we can better ourselves and the world around us with creativity at its heart.

Georgia is very excited to be working with the team as well as all participants who join. She looks forward to coordinating and delivering new creative projects with young people’s creative wellbeing at the forefront.
