LUCY MACLEOD

Creative Health & Wellbeing Director

In her role as Director, Lucy has driven forward the organisation’s vision to establish sustainable creative wellbeing initiatives and platforms in D&G, project managing an impactful research and development project in 2021/22.

An Illustrator, Artist, and Educator for almost two decades, Lucy has created visuals for a huge variety of clients, exhibited internationally and taught at Universities and Colleges across the UK. After moving from Edinburgh to Langholm in 2012, Lucy co-founded OutPost Arts in 2018 with a vision to enhance opportunities for rural artists & makers and increase access to creative and cultural activities for local communities.

Lucy is also Interim Chair of DGUnlimited – Dumfries & Galloway’s Chamber of the Arts.

TABITHA MUDALIAR

Creative Wellbeing Network Coordinator

Tabi is a Creative Producer of feature and art films, cultural events, radio, podcasts, and digital media. She is also a writer and radio broadcast journalist. Tabi is a Trustee of Alchemy Film & Arts, Chair of Alive Community Radio SCIO, and Creative Producer for DG Unlimited.In addition to her own published creative writing, she has written and broadcast for BBC Radio Scotland and Alive Community Radio.

Tabi presents her own live weekly magazine radio show, ‘TotallyTabi’ on Alive 107.3fm. Tabi was Co-Producer of ‘Stella’ an independent feature film Directed by Jessica Fox, filmed entirely on location in Dumfries and Galloway. ‘Stella’ premiered at the MELECH Tel-Aviv International Film Festival in November 2022, winning Best Drama, and in Montreal International Film Festival 2022 won Best First Film. Tabi’s production skills and creative talents are now focussed upon her next film project. Tabi’s first book is also nearing completion.

FRANK HAYES

Creative Health Coordinator

Committed to nurturing the artistic ability within everyone and improving mental and social health, confidence, and wellbeing through the power of art and creativity; Frank will lead the production aspects of the Creative Health programme, working with a range of artists, creative producers, and key partners/organisations to deliver a vibrant and inspiring range of activities, events, displays and exhibitions.

Frank has broad and varied experience as a Photographer, Illustrator and Environmentalist as well as being the founder and Creative Director of For Enjoyment CIC, working within the arts in Dumfries & Galloway for the last decade. Through this work, Frank has seen much success and recognition, including winning the D&G Community Champion Award. He has developed productive partnerships with many organisations in D&G and throughout Scotland and is currently Vice Chair of DG Unlimited – D&G’s Chamber of the Arts.

KIRSTIN MCEWAN

Website and Content Coordinator

Kirstin is a digital media manager and photographer specialising in content creation, social media and digital marketing. Her current positions are engaged in conversations around cultural regeneration, radical arts initiatives and music creation in the South West of Scotland.

Kirstin is a passionate advocate for levelling the playing field between men and women within this most fluctuating and diverse of industries and using social media in a creative way to ignite discussions around many important topics within the arts and music.

Liz McQueen

Adult Creative Wellbeing Lead

Utilising her experience and as art tutor and technician in a variety of educational settings and skills developed via her own freelance creative practice, Liz will co-ordinate the production of OPA’s adult creative wellbeing programme – delivering creative prescribing, mentoring and accessible satellite activities across the region.

Originally from Wales, Liz McQueen is a Landscape Artist based in Eskdalemuir, D&G. Since graduating with BA Fine Art from Winchester School of Art in 2010, Liz has gained experience as an art tutor and art technician in a variety of educational settings, from an independent school for young people learning outside of mainstream education to leading landscape painting workshops as art tutor for OPA’s pilot Art Journal Project.

Her mixed-media paintings are created from a variety of water-based media, inspired by the valley, forestry and moorlands surrounding her studio.

Diane Hay

admin and finance manager

Diane (Di) joined OPA in February 2023 as their first employee but had been involved with them since 2020, taking part in the pilot Art Journal Project having just suffered a personal grief/trauma, which helped their mindset enormously.

Their job is split into two parts; the first being Admin-mainly working in the background, dealing with the day-to-day operation across all three strands of OPA.

The second being the financial record keeping of the accounts and budgets and all pertaining to it.

Phoebe Watt

Programme OFFICER

Phoebe studied Film and Media at Stirling before doing a postgrad in Film Curation, which has led them down the path of arts programming.

Phoebe completed an internship at CatStrand in arts management earlier this year and have absolutely loved learning how to channel their love for the arts into a career.

When not working on the Creative Wellbeing Programme, you’ll find Phoebe cat-sitting all over northwest Glasgow or covered in clay in the pottery studio. They are currently based in Glasgow.

Georgia Blue

Youth Creative Wellbeing Lead

Georgia Blue Ireland joined the team in late 2023 as the new Youth Creative Wellbeing Lead. 

Her background is in acting and theatre-making, having graduated from New College Lanarkshire’s Acting with Creative Enterprise course with a first-class degree. 

She has worked as an arts facilitator for different community groups for many years, encouraging young people and adults into the arts, honing their creative skills and fostering a caring practice that evokes confidence, self-reflection and self-esteem. Her arts practice follows a socio-political thread, using mindful thinking as to how we can better ourselves and the world around us with creativity at its heart. 

Georgia is very excited to be working with the team as well as all participants who join. She looks forward to coordinating and delivering new creative projects with young people’s creative wellbeing at the forefront.
