Last month, we shared our groundbreaking draft Creative Wellbeing Manifesto designed to inspire, inform, and transform the creative wellbeing landscape in Dumfries & Galloway. The draft manifesto was unveiled at a special event at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary at the end of August, hosted by the DG Creative Wellbeing Network. Art in Healthcare Update from Julie Stephen – Associate Artist
Establishing new, regular blocks of art workshops at Midpark Hospital (D&G’s acute mental health unit) has allowed inpatients and staff to interact with mindful creative processes to benefit their wellbeing. 2024 Art Journal Project – Summer Update
Thirty participants are currently on their creative journey with the 2024 Art Journal Project – a key aspect of OutPost Arts’ community-based work which creates opportunities for participants to connect with their ‘creative selves,’ enhancing wellbeing via creative expression, mindful practise, positive distraction, and the development of self-management tools. 2024 Creative Toolbox – Summer Update
Creative Toolbox is an exciting new youth creative wellbeing programme for young people from across Dumfries & Galloway dealing with low self-esteem, low confidence and/or poor mental health. We are thrilled to share the news that we were recently commissioned by the Crichton Trust to create visual content, alongside For Enjoyment CIC, for a special edition of The New Moon publication to commemorate the European Lunar Symposium 2024. The Symposium was hosted by the Open University, and took place at the Crichton in Dumfries last week.
