The launch event highlighted the phenomenal creative talent that exists in our region, with live portraiture from Hope London, music from The Bookshop Band, window mural by Alice Griffin, workshops by For Enjoyment, exhibition curation by Javier Aregger and creative facilitation by Julie Stephen & Kirsty Turpie.
The programme provided a taste of what’s to come, creating opportunities for all stakeholders to participate – recognising that an embedded arts programme is for EVERYONE.

Keep Turning The Page
Working in partnership with the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, NHS D&G Public Health, DGRI, The Crichton and RBC Film Theatre, DG Creative Wellbeing launched The ‘Keep Turning the Page’ exhibition in October 2023.The exhibition saw these “Art Journallers” showcase their work and share their personal journeys with a wide audience, amplifying their voices and underlining the important relationship between creativity and mental health.
Then & Now
The exhibition has been created by Graeme Robertson Centre for Practised Arts, Dumfries. The images displayed blend old Dumfries with the present day, using old photos overlayed and merged with new photos of the same locations. These showcase the changes and developments that have taken place, some are dramatic and other are more subtle.
The Then & Now installation was unveiled at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Ward C4 in November 2023.
Women in Photography
An exhibition that celebrates of women in photography will tour across Dumfries and Galloway in 2024.
Currently on display at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI), the exhibition was curated and first showcased at Shambellie House in June 2023.
The images displayed were taken by both emerging and established photographers from the UK and beyond. There were more than 100 submissions with 52 images on selected.

This exhibition with Turning Point Scotland in partnership with DG Creative Wellbeing, was inspired by AccessArt participant Jim Lynn who has a passion for model buses, owning a growing collection of more than 400 miniature vehicles.
